Jet A-1 is the standard specification fuel used in the rest of the World other than the former Soviet states, where TS-1 is the most common standard. Both Jet A and Jet A-1 have a flash point higher than 38 °C (100 °F), with an auto ignition temperature of 210 °C ( 410 °F)

Some typical values are:
- Avgas 80, 55.65 MJ/Kg, density at 15 °C is 690 kg/m3.
- Kerosene type Jet A-1, 43.15 MJ/Kg, density at 15 °C is 804 kg/m3.
- Kerosene type Jet TS-1 (for lower temperatures), 43.2 MJ/kg.
In performance calculations, airline manufacturers uses a density of Jet fuel around 6.7 lb/US gal or 0.8 kg/l.
